OPPORTUNITY
We have an immediate opening for a Packer . The Packer is responsible for creating an inspiring culinary experience for our guests. They give outstanding service by meeting and exceeding our guests' expectations and providing excellent internal service to the team. Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of all aspects of the catering and commissary kitchen, reaching company goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. They are part of a cohesive Bi-Rite team that supports the Bi-Rite Missions, Vision, and Community Values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares and packages all seasonal and delicious house-made products for the guests at our markets and catering events; meets and exceeds guests expectations. Ensures Bi-Rite packaging standards are followed accurately and food quality and safety standards are met. Works directly with the Sous Chef and supervisors to execute daily priorities to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly. Regularly tastes products to ensure a high standard of product quality, flavor, and freshness are met. Ensures all products received/delivered are accurate according to specifications in quality, size, pack, and pricing. Puts away inventory, paying close attention to proper rotation, accurate labeling, while handling perishable items safely. Handles damaged, out-of-date, spoils, and returned products to department standards. Follows all food safety and sanitation practices

QUALIFICATIONS
1+ year experience working prep in a commercial kitchen recommended. ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire. Bi-Rite provides on-site paid training and certification. Continuous standing and carrying between 11-50+ pounds. Ability to work nights and weekends when needed. Must be 18 years of age or older.
