Job Description

Job Title:
Order Picker - Standard (Second Shift) Job Description This contract role supports a large paint packaging facility by accurately pulling, labeling, and packaging orders on the second shift. You work primarily with inventory and labeling tasks while using basic warehouse tools and equipment. The position currently runs for approximately 4-9 months with a strong potential to convert to a direct hire role. You work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Responsibilities Pull customer orders accurately from warehouse inventory using order picking processes and RF scanners. Label and relabel paint containers, boxes, and pallets according to packaging and shipping requirements. Package orders securely and neatly to prepare them for shipping and receiving activities. Perform general warehouse labor tasks, including organizing products, staging orders, and maintaining a clean work area. Handle inventory by counting, tracking, and recording stock levels to support accurate inventory control. Move gallons of paint and related products within the warehouse, including lifting and carrying items up to approximately 50 pounds. Use RF scanning equipment to scan, verify, and update order and inventory information. Assist with shipping and receiving functions as needed, including loading and unloading materials. Follow all safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes. Work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet daily production and order fulfillment goals. Essential Skills Ability to work second shift hours from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Capability to lift and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis. High school diploma or equivalent. Entry-level role with no prior warehouse experience required. Ability to perform warehouse order picking using RF scanners after training. Willingness to perform repetitive tasks such as labeling, relabeling, and packaging. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately for order pulling and inventory tasks. Reliability and punctuality for consistent weekly schedules, typically around 40 hours per week. Willingness to comply with all workplace safety and substance policies, including required testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse, general labor, production, or packing environments is helpful but not required. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is a plus. Comfort using RF scanners or similar handheld devices for picking and inventory tasks. Attention to detail when labeling, relabeling, and verifying product information. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented warehouse setting. Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning and taking direction. Why Work Here? The work involves standing, walking, lifting up to approximately 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks such as labeling, inventory handling, and order picking. You use RF scanners, carts, and other basic warehouse tools daily. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the dress code, and safety practices are emphasized throughout the facility. Many workers who start in this contract role have historically transitioned into permanent positions, contributing to a stable and supportive team environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
