Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Forklift / Packer to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient handling, packing, and shipping of products while maintaining high safety standards and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems, contributing to smooth warehouse distribution processes. Responsibilities Operate various types of material handling equipment including reach trucks, forklifts (lift trucks), Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanning devices to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Safely load and unload shipments by adhering to OSHA and company safety protocols, ensuring proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting. Pick and pack orders accurately using order picker equipment and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure optimal operation. Manage inventory levels by accurately recording stock movements, updating warehouse management systems, and conducting regular stock counts. Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipment contents against documentation and preparing items for dispatch. Maintain a clean, organized workspace while following safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents or injuries. Support warehouse supervisor with daily operations including materials handling, load securing, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Use manual handling skills combined with technical knowledge of material handling equipment to optimize workflow and reduce damage or errors. Experience Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse setting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, shipping & receiving procedures. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and warehouse safety protocols. Prior experience in inventory management, order picking, load & unload activities, and materials handling is highly desirable. Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting is a plus. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including heavy lifting techniques and manual handling procedures. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment documentation. Previous experience in warehouse supervision or leading small teams is advantageous but not required.
