Material Handlers are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of computers and electronics that are donated to Goodwill. They will help to receive, sort, and palletize donations into categories such as computers, computer monitors, etc. This role will aid in properly storing donated materials in designated areas, maintaining a safe, neat workplace, operating pallet jacks and forklifts as needed. This role will also help in preparing shipping schedules, labels, and loads to meet the metrics set for Goodwill by Dell. Material Handlers will help to identify quality items that could be sent to the Reboot store for refurbishment. This is a physical role that will include long periods of standing and the potential for heavy lifting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide efficient and safe movement of computer donations and electronics. Handlers may be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods. Receive and presort and palletize donations into various categories (computers, monitors, televisions, printers and peripherals) and electronics. Warehouse donated materials in designated areas of the center, maintaining a neat and orderly work area. Prepare shipping schedule, labels, and loads to meet Dell metrics and compliance. Identify quality items which would be sent to Reboot store for refurbishing. Model good work habits for clients in training programs. Assist with clean-up of the work areas. Qualifications:
Ability to read and write Knowledge of computers and computer components preferred Successful completion of required training Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to perform physical labor throughout the day Successful completion of Building PRIDE orientation within introductory period The Material Handler has a starting wage of $14.39. The schedule for this position may vary.
