Job Description

Summary The Picker receives, stores, distributes, and verifies materials as required to meet production and customer schedules by performing the following duties. Responsibilities Reads orders, pick lists, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing materials to verify information against orders or other records. Locates and moves material as required on pick lists or other documentation. Transfers and consolidates materials to new locations. Ensures material and locations are properly identified and marked. Performs necessary paperwork and enters records on computer. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments. Perform cycle counts. Operates lift trucks, man-lifts, or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist material to and from the stockroom or work area. Assists in other stockroom areas as needed. Handles physical disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with company policies. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training. Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions. Troubleshoot problems and report issues. Must work well in a team environment. Excellent attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be on feet for up to 8-12 hours per shift. Use of hands and fingers to perform job function. Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
