Job Description

An Overnight Bakery Packer will be responsible for packaging bread, pastries and other bakery items, in a careful and sanitary manner that is specific to orders for Wholesale Accounts. The position requires organization and coordination between the Wholesale office, Bakers and Delivery Drivers. The Overnight Bakery Packer is the last person finalizing all the steps that ensure all of the care and hard work that goes into a single baked good, makes it to our partnered locations accurately and on time. This role requires individuals who operate efficiently both with a team and independently. Exceptional attention to detail, time management skills and consistent reliability are a MUST. Availability on FRIDAYS and SUNDAYS are are MUST. Saturdays are always off days!
Essential Functions:
Be available to work as early as 6:00 PM and/or as late as 4:00 AM This is an
OVERNIGHT
position, but in/out time can be discussed during the interview. Package certain items for next day-delivery in a careful and efficient manner Ensure the correct items, in correct quantities are packaged and labeled based off a detailed packing slip. Organize the packed items so they are easy to transport into our delivery vans and so that they do not move around or get crushed during transport. Keep work areas, refrigerated walk-ins, freezers, etc clean and organized so product is easy to identify
Other Functions:
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Wholesale Department as directed by the Department Manager Complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning work areas Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed Be able to lift up to 20-30 pounds Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop and carry Work in both warm and cool environments (i.e. Walk-in Coolers, Freezers, Near Ovens) Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish More detail about West Town Bakery & Diner part of The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group
