Job Title:
Order Picker/Warehouse Associate Pay:
$16-$18/hour
Shift:
1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts available Responsibilities Pick customer orders in the Order Processing department using a cart equipped with a tablet that displays what items to pick, how many to pick, and where they are located in the warehouse. Use an AI-based inventory system that optimizes pick paths by directing you to products that are located close to each other to improve efficiency and pick rates. Work in the packaging area by standing at a conveyor, removing products from totes, and placing them into the correct boxes. Assemble boxes, place items inside, run boxes through a tape machine, and apply accurate labels to each package. Assist with loading finished packages by standing inside UPS trucks and loading them with packages coming down the conveyor as needed. Meet or exceed performance expectations of approximately 100 lines per hour, where one line may be a single item, while maintaining accuracy and quality. Follow rotation schedules by switching roles within the packaging department approximately every two hours. Participate in orientation, safety training, and on-the-job training, including shadowing a trainer and then being shadowed and coached while performing tasks. Adhere to all safety rules, including proper lifting techniques, team lifts for items over 35 pounds, and compliance with equipment and facility guidelines. Comply with workplace policies, including no use of cell phones or earphones on the warehouse floor. Support shipping timelines by helping ensure orders are ready for UPS pickups at scheduled times during the day. Essential Skills Ability to walk approximately 3-5 miles per day throughout the warehouse. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently and participate in team lifts for items over 35 pounds. Comfort working in warehouse distribution, production, shipping and receiving, or general warehouse environments. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as packing boxes, labeling, and loading packages. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy when picking items, filling multiple orders at once, and labeling boxes. Ability to follow instructions on a tablet or RF scanner to locate inventory and complete picks. Willingness to work overtime as needed, including up to 50-58 hours per week and occasional Saturdays. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any prior warehouse or order picking experience is a plus. Experience using RF scanners, inventory systems, or similar technology is an advantage. Comfort working with AI-driven or automated systems for inventory and packaging. Willingness to learn multiple roles within order processing and packaging and rotate tasks regularly. Openness to structured onboarding, including orientation, safety training, and hands-on coaching. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $17.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
