Job Description

Manufacturing Packer Job Description This role involves working as part of a packaging team in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility, rotating through three packing positions on a production line. You will prepare boxes, load ink cartridges, label and seal cartons, and palletize finished products while maintaining a fast pace and meeting production standards. The position is physically active and requires standing for the full shift and consistently lifting up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities Rotate daily between three core packing positions as part of a production team. Open and prepare boxes so they are ready for loading by the next packer. Load ink cartridges into boxes according to customer and production specifications. Label and seal each completed box accurately and securely. Place sealed boxes onto pallets in an organized and stable manner until the pallet is full. Work at a fast, consistent pace to keep up with the production line and meet output targets. Stand for the full 8-hour shift while performing repetitive packing and palletizing tasks. Handle products and packaging materials safely and carefully to avoid damage. Follow all plant safety procedures, guidelines, and quality standards. Collaborate with fellow packers, forklift drivers, mixers, and office staff to support smooth workflow. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. Perform other related packaging and material handling duties as assigned by supervision. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience. Demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace on a production line. Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift while performing repetitive tasks. High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any experience working with inks or in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience as a batch mixer or in mixing operations. Experience with loading, assembly, or general production work. Familiarity with RF scanners for tracking products or inventory. Experience working with skids and palletizing finished goods. Experience using a pallet jack in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Strong attention to detail for accurate labeling and packaging. Ability to work effectively as part of a small production team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
