Packer Job Description The Packer role focuses on accurately packing lip balm and other personal care and pharmaceutical products into boxes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You ensure each box contains the correct quantity and weight, perform detailed quality checks on labels and packaging, and help maintain a smooth and efficient production line while standing for the duration of your shift. Responsibilities
+ Pack lip balm and other personal care and pharmaceutical products into boxes according to established production standards.
+ Count out and verify the correct quantity of products for each box before sealing or moving to the next stage.
+ Weigh boxes on designated lines to confirm counts and ensure they meet specified weight requirements.
+ Perform quality checks on packaged products, including confirming labels are correctly applied and aligned.
+ Inspect packaging for bubbles, misprints, and other defects, and verify expiration dates are present and accurate.
+ Maintain a consistent, fast work pace to keep up with the production line and avoid slowing down operations.
+ Follow all established procedures for packing, labeling, and inspecting products.
+ Handle general labor tasks associated with packing, such as stacking, palletizing, loading, and unloading as needed.
+ Use basic tools and equipment, such as a calculator and utility knife, safely and appropriately during packing activities.
+ Work both independently and as part of a team, especially on smaller shifts where close supervision is limited.
+ Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and organizational guidelines within the manufacturing and corporate facility. Essential Skills
+ Experience in packing or packaging work in a production or manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to work at a very fast pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Strong counting skills to ensure correct quantities are packed in each box.
+ Capability to weigh boxes and interpret weight measurements to verify product counts.
+ Proficiency in inspecting products and labels for bubbles, misprints, and other visible defects.
+ Ability to verify and read expiration dates clearly and accurately.
+ Comfort with standing for the entire shift and performing repetitive tasks.
+ Reliability in following established procedures for packing, labeling, and inspecting.
+ Basic ability to use simple tools such as a calculator, knife, swipe card, and pen.
