Starting Salary:
$23 an hour with chance for production bonus
Purpose:
A parcel shipping role in a distribution center involves sorting, scanning, weighing, packing, and loading individual customer orders or small packages for outbound delivery. Workers ensure accuracy, print correct shipping labels, and safely transfer packages to carrier trucks using fork trucks or manual equipment. Ensures the accurate and efficient preparation of large, bulky, or heavy parcels for outbound delivery. This role requires continuous physical labor, high stamina, and strict adherence to safety protocols for moving oversized items
Position Prerequisite:
Must meet the following requirements:
- Complies with all rules and regulations of Agri-Fab, Inc. and actively contributes to workplace safety.
- Interacts in a positive and cooperative manner in all dealings with co-workers and management.
- Actively participates in training; stays current and in compliance with required annual safety training.
- Supports manufacturing improvement programs and initiatives. Offers and helps implement improvement suggestions.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe working environment; wears and utilizes all PPE required for each job.
- Follows standard work and work instructions.
- Displays a high degree of attention to detail.
- Displays appropriate sense of urgency in communicating concerns (safety, quality, etc.).
- Cross-trains in order to perform all tasks in job rotation.
- Works overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Essential Functions:
Required but not limited to:
Heavy Freight Handling:
Manually lift, move, and stack parcels weighing up to 70-100 lbs on a regular basis.
Palletizing & Staging:
Build stable pallets of heavy boxes, wrap them with shrink film, and stage them for loading.
Loading & Unloading:
Load heavy cargo onto outbound carrier trailers manually or using mechanical assistance.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate heavy-duty manual or electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, fork trucks and conveyor systems.
Safety Compliance:
Follow strict ergonomic lifting guidelines and utilize team lifting techniques for oversized items.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift 70-100lbs repeatedly and stand or walk for long shifts. Attention to
