Job Title:
Finishing Technician Job Description The Finishing Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of products by utilizing the Plex system. Key tasks include slag removal, steam cleaning, rust removal, oiling parts, and conducting final inspections. The role requires preparing items for shipment and ensuring that all products are packaged correctly and labeled accurately. Responsibilities Utilize the Plex system to verify product and procedure accuracy. Remove slag using an air gun and mallet. Steam clean parts to eliminate dirt and chips. Dip parts in rust remover and apply oil before packaging. Conduct a final inspection of parts for quality assurance. Band workpieces and prepare them for shipping by building pallets and packaging boxes. Ensure the accuracy of the products before shipment. Print and label boxes and containers. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure product completion accuracy. Essential Skills Attention to detail and strong focus on quality. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with shipping and handling larger products. Comfortable lifting items over 35 lbs. Willingness to be cross-trained in different tasks. Strong inventory, hand tool, and production skills. Proficiency in using a tape measure and conducting inspections. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with final prep and cleaning of products before shipment. It consists of two separate buildings and is equipped with CNC machinery, weld booths, and racking systems. The environment can be loud, dirty, and subject to temperature changes, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Steel-toed boots are required for safety. Employees will work in specific departments alongside a supervisor and a dedicated team. Efforts are underway to upgrade the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $22.60/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
