Job Description

PrideStaff has a great client in Greendale, IN seeking 1-2 packing associates. Our client makes epsom salts and has a packing operation heavily automated but requires some lifting of 50 lb bags at times to flip over. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the packaging process, ensuring that products are assembled and packaged efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position requires mechanical knowledge and familiarity with shipping tasks and basic computer skills. This requires the ability to work in a production environment for a company who provides over 90% of the US needs of Epsom Salts. The production schedule is Rotating Swing Shift -- which means for 8 weeks you will be on Days (12 hours shifts; 2 days on 2 days off; 3 days on ) and then switch to nights for the next 8 weeks (12 hours shifts; 2 days on 2 days off; 3 days on; Then 2 off, 2 on and 3 off). These are temp to hire positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe safety rules and wear personal protective equipment at all times. Aid in the packaging, warehousing, and shipping of product. Unloading and storage of raw materials using a forklift. Use of the forklift is ptobably limited to only 15% of the time. Accurate completion of shipping and material documents. Assist others with plant tasks. Expected to fully communicate between shifts and the other company personnel. Monitor and maintain all equipment and controls, request maintenance assistance when needed. Keep all work areas neat and orderly. Keep proper inventory of finished product and packaging supplies on hand. Be respectful of others and company property. Experience:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to read, write, understand, and follow procedures and instructions. Basic computer skills. Previous RF Scanner and Forklift experience required. Ability to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, climb ladders, and work on platforms. 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment preferred. Valid state driver's license. High School Diploma or GED.
