Job Description
Stormalong Cider is an established craft cider producer that is looking for a dedicated Packaging Assistant to join our Production Team in Millis, MA. This role is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in craft cider, cider making, or the craft beverage industry. Learn about the cider making process from start to finish, get some exposure to the industry, and play a key role in getting our products out of our production facility and into the hands of consumers. Position Summary The Packaging Assistant role is responsible for a myriad of packaging responsibilities, from packing out finished cases and cans to cleaning kegs and kegging cider. They work directly with the production team to execute daily assignments in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities Palletizing and visually inspecting finished cases of 4 packs of cans Refilling various packaging materials (PakTechs, 12 pack cartons, lids, cans, fold boxes, etc.) Wrapping and storing finished pallets Assist in set up and cleaning of the canning line in the morning Washing, filling, palletizing and storing kegs for use General upkeep and cleanliness of the packaging areas before, during and after packaging runs are complete Ingredient prep work Other duties as assigned Experience & Skills Attention to detail Ability to multitask Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus Forklift experience is a plus Punctuality is a must Must be 21+ Working Conditions & Requirements This role operates in a manufacturing environment: You're expected to be on your feet for the duration of your shift. Expected to have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 55 pounds by hand and move heavy loads with a pallet jack Ability to sit/stand/bend/walk and maintain manual dexterity for the duration of the work period Must be able and willing to work morning, midday and afternoon hours Compensation & Hours As an employee of Stormalong Cider, Packaging Assistants will earn up to $23/hr, depending on experience. Part-time work Monday-Friday. Hours range from 8:00 / 8:30am to the end of packaging, usually around 4pm. Sometimes later.
