Order Picker Job Description The Order Picker accurately pulls orders for outbound trucks and on-site customers while operating material handling equipment in both indoor and outdoor areas. This role combines safe forklift and hoist operation with direct customer service and general yard housekeeping to support efficient and organized warehouse operations. Responsibilities Pull orders accurately and efficiently for outbound company trucks and on-site customers in the yard. Operate sit-down forklifts safely to move, load, and unload materials. Retrieve products from both the outdoor product yard and indoor storage areas according to order requirements. Use overhead hoists as needed to handle heavy or bulky materials safely. Provide direct, face-to-face customer service to clients picking up orders in the yard. Verify picked items against order documentation to help maintain accurate inventory. Load materials securely to minimize damage and ensure safe transport. Assist with general cleanup and organization of the yard and production areas to maintain a safe, orderly work environment. Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while performing daily tasks. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in order picking. Proficiency in material handling, including moving, loading, and staging products. Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Experience with inventory-related tasks such as picking and verifying orders. Capability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments while maintaining productivity. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment. Basic customer service skills for direct, in-person interactions with clients. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using overhead hoists to move materials safely. Familiarity with general warehouse or yard operations. Comfort working around heavy equipment and industrial environments. Willingness to assist with housekeeping and facility upkeep as needed. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
