Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Primary function is to inspect and pack finished product, consume the proper raw materials and report any inconsistencies to the Supervisor, Shift Lead and/or responsible Line Operator and to maintain Darnel safety & quality standards in all aspects of job performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
01. Visually inspect, bag and pack finished product ensuring that it meets all Darnel quality standards. 02. Report and communicate any quality problems or product inconsistencies to the Line Operator(s). 03. Ensure that the correct product label is neatly placed on each box, the content matches the label, and the proper raw materials are being consumed. 04. Prepare, maintain and organize the packing area while ensuring adequate supplies are available for the next shift. 05. Efficiently retrieve, transport and grind scrap and/or off-quality product. 06. Assist in the set-up/start-up, cleaning and preparation of the machine(s) during production changeovers.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
07. Palletize, stack and shrink wrap pallets when needed. 08. Maintain good housekeeping on machines, floors, trash cans and waste according to AIB requirements. 09. Perform any other assigned duties or tasks requested by the Supervisor, Shift Lead and/or Line Operators.
PHYSICALS DEMANDS
01. Vision correctable to 20/20. 02. Visually distinguish color. (must not be colorblind) 03. Lifting up to 35 lb. from floor to waist high repetitively. 04. Frequent bending and stooping. 05. Frequent standing the majority of the 12-hour shift. 06. Use a utility knife following prescribed safety regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Lighting is good and temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around certain equipment.
Requirements:
01. High school diploma or equivalent. 02. Read, write and have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and perform simple math. 03. Must be able to read and use measurement instruments. 04. Requires the ability to make general decisions based on product quality, appearance and quantity. 05. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
