Job Description

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.
Job Summary:
Stage materials from manufacturing operations to warehouse. Stage materials from warehouse to be shipped. Pull yarn as needed from the main plant list. Place incoming yarn into the appropriate location. Hearing protection is required in high noise areas, safety belt/harness required when using P.I.T. equipment.
Tools and Equipment used:
RF Gun, computer, P.I.T.
Essential Functions:
Perform the following duties in accordance with
ISO 9001
work instructions and standards Scan and adjust box or bin rows, and combine yarns to create bins. Open share file, pull yarn required for main, locate in bins. Load yarn onto the truck. Place yarn from vendors or other plants into the proper location. Make any transaction needed to ensure inventory is correct. Pull yarn for outside processed yarns. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands of the job. Work scheduled overtime. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Safety:
Report all job related injuries to the supervisor immediately. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by the company. Follow the 5 S Standards. Hearing protection is required in high noise areas, safety belt/harness required when using P.I.T. equipment
Qualifications:
Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Basic reading, writing, and math skills
