We have been doing this for 21 years. Now we sell a lot of religious candles and are looking to hire someone to help us pack orders at our office. Our "office" is my dad's home in Nashua and we have a 6,500 square foot warehouse in Manchester close to the Department of Public Work's campus. We store the bulk of our inventory in our warehouse and ship out orders from our office. This year, we will ship around 30,000 candles. We have three employees helping us in Nashua. We ship most of our candles to Amazon's fulfillment warehouses and they ship them to our customers. We first shrink wrap, then bubble wrap, and put a bar code label on each candle. We then create a shipment for a box of 25 candles. We ship between 5 and 8 boxes per day. We also restock our office daily from the stock in our warehouse. The boxes we send to Amazon are up to 35 pounds and we require someone to be able to lift that. Most of the time, our employees are lifting 12 pound cases of candles. Duties include wrapping and labeling candles, scanning candles and packing boxes to send to Amazon, putting and picking candles on shelves, and data entry for inventory changes. We primarily use Microsoft Access and Excel for our inventory. The job is approximately 20 hours a week, 9 AM to 1 PM. The hours could be ideal for a stay-at-home parent. We use Paychex for our payroll so we cannot hire someone with a student visa.
