Job Description
Job Description Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices. The Packer position requires an individual to be detail oriented and flexible. The individual will not only be responsible for packing units but be available to assist in any other areas in the plant as needed, including cementing, shipping, testing, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge on how to use and read a tape measure is required.
- Must be able to read work drawings and understand written instruction manuals & standard practice manuals.
- Responsible for rigging a unit and attaching various parts to it such as aspirator, intake valves, cylinders, lines, cords, anchors, locator lights and batteries.
- Will need to tie various knots in a specific manner.
- Soapstone (dust) specific areas of unit so that no sticking occurs.
- Deflate unit to prepare it for folding.
- Follow standard procedure for folding the unit utilizing a diagram and written instructions.
- Using the hands and feet, must be able to; push, pull, tug, bend, kneel, stoop, etc. to get unit in its case during a folding process.
- Must lace cases up
- Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required;

- High school diploma/GED Knowledge/Skills
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and manuals- Basic
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.- Basic
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in either written, or, diagram- Basic
Other:
Must be able to operate specific equipment or tools- Basic
