Job Description

Overview:
The Plant Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Golden Meat division and is responsible for overseeing the Butcher and Packers of the plant. In this position, the Plant Manager will coordinate the plant's manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with Company objectives, quality systems, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the meat processing plant, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely. Ensure compliance with Company, local, local & federal regulations, Good Management Practices, sanitation, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and other appropriate programs designed to safeguard both employees and customers. Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments. Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning. Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives. Lead and motivate team of production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed. Provide ideas and strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility. Collaborate with Supply Chain and logistics teams to manager inventory levels effectively. Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
Requirements:
Proven experience in meat processing operations management. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. In-depth knowledge of meat processing regulations, safety standards and quality control. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Standing or walking for long periods of time, up to 8 hours. Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and kneeling. Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Able to work closely with others and individually.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to train and instruct employees. Good analytical problem-solving skills. Proven skills in leadership and supervision. Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Business knowledge, budgeting, project management, office management skills, logistics, negotiating, and planning skills.
Technology Skills:
Inventory Management system. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology including (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Work Environment:
Ability to work onsite at Golden Meat Warehouse. Ability to work in cold environment with temperatures averaging between 36 - 38 degrees without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in fast-paced meat packing facility. May be exposed to loud machinery and equipment.
