Job Description
- 1st shift (7 am
- 3:30 pm), 2nd shift (3 pm
- 11:30 pm) has an additional $1.50 per hour (differential), and 3rd shift (11 pm
- 7:30 am) has an additional $2.00 per hour (differential)
SUMMARY A
packer is responsible for but not limited to packing paper food packaging products off one or multiple machines, monitoring quality of the product they are packing, supplying and utilizing the correct bags and boxes for each product/machine, monitoring upcoming roll changes, notifying Technicians of any irregularities with product or machine functionality, and general housekeeping throughout the shift as well as specific cleaning tasks at the end of the shift. Role and Responsibilities Inspect and pack dishes into bags and boxes per the displayed production schedule Work as a team with other packers to assist each other and cover multiple machines throughout the shift Prepare boxes by manually assembling, forming and in some cases taping Ensure that boxes are marked and labeled appropriately (if ahead label correct QTY of boxes in advance) Check to ensure dishes are damage free, glued correctly, and good quality print Remove defective dishes and dispose in machine specific scrap bin. Replace with the same amount of good dishes to maintain full sleeves (verify correct count by ensuring sleeve is "dot to dot") Secure each sleeve of dishes with tape and place the correct quantity of sleeves in the corrugated box Load packed boxes in correct orientation onto conveyor belts to be tapped and palletized for shipment Communicate any issues (related to product or equipment) to group lead or senior staff member immediately If machine goes down, stop glue flow, clear packing table and shoot (to last dot), then wipe down the table with appropriate cleaning supplies Monitor paper roll on each machine and notify the Technicians when ready to change. Do not allow to run out Replenish packaging supplies such as tape, boxes, plastic sleeves or labels Clean garbage and scrap on and around equip. and empty into trash or machine specific designated scrap bins Use absorbent to clean ink spills, sweep up and dispose properly. Clean all loose cores and plugs from paper rolls Weigh, record, and dump scrap bins into designated compactor (separated by dish size and paper substrate) Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) as required Comply and follow SQP's food safety and workplace safety policies Assist with cleaning and maintaining of factory by utilizing cleaning supplies both throughout and at end of shift Qualifications Ability to stand for a 8- 12 hour shift Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as well as ability to lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds repetitively throughout the work day Ability to work in a fast-paced and team oriented environment Perform basic visual quality inspections of finished goods Good communication skills to work with other packers and machine Technicians Must be capable of cleaning with chemicals using personal protective equipment (supplied by SQP) Possess basic math skills To apply online visit our website: https://kariout.
