This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed packaging instructions, customer specifications, work orders, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, quality-focused, and comfortable working with small components and materials where accuracy and proper packaging are critical. Entry Level. Essential Responsibilities Package small military, aerospace, defense, and industrial components according to work orders, customer specifications, and established packaging procedures. Inspect parts and materials for visible damage, contamination, corrosion, or other conditions requiring attention before packaging. Prepare items using appropriate protective materials, including barrier materials, cushioning, wrapping, bags, desiccants, corrosion-inhibiting materials, and other packaging components. Properly seal, label, mark, and identify packages according to job requirements. Follow detailed written instructions, drawings, specifications, and packaging requirements. Verify part numbers, quantities, labels, and documentation before completing each package. Perform accurate counting and inventory of small parts and packaging materials. Use hand tools and basic packaging equipment safely and effectively. Assemble small boxes, containers, kits, and protective packaging as required. Complete required production, inspection, and packaging documentation accurately. Maintain product traceability and ensure items remain properly identified throughout the packaging process. Inspect finished packages for proper workmanship, labeling, sealing, and protection. Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work area. Follow all company safety, quality, security, and handling procedures. Immediately report discrepancies, damaged materials, incorrect documentation, or quality concerns to a supervisor. Meet established production schedules while maintaining required quality standards. Perform other packaging and production duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in packaging, manufacturing, warehouse operations, shipping, assembly, or a similar environment preferred. Experience with military, aerospace, defense, or industrial packaging is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with small components. Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic or paper documentation. Ability to perform basic math, including counting, measuring, and verifying quantities. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain product identification and traceability. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Experience Familiarity with military or government packaging requirements. Experience with preservation and protective packaging. Familiarity with MIL-STD-2073 or other military packaging specifications is preferred. Experience with corrosion prevention and control packaging. Experience working with small electronic, mechanical, or precision components. Quality inspection or documentation experience. Experience in an ISO- or quality-controlled manufacturing environment. Quality & Compliance Because many products packaged in this role may be used in military or defense applications, accuracy and compliance are essential. The associate is expected to carefully follow applicable customer requirements, work instructions, specifications, inspection procedures, and company quality standards. Employees must maintain accurate documentation, proper identification and traceability, and consistent packaging quality throughout the production process. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work at a workstation for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements when handling and packaging small components. Ability to lift and move materials and packages as required by the position. Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and move throughout the production area. Ability to visually inspect small components, labels, packaging materials, and documentation. Ability to wear required PPE and follow applicable workplace safety requirements. Work Environment This position typically works in a manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment. The employee may work around packaging equipment, hand tools, production materials, and other industrial activities. The work area is expected to be maintained in a clean, organized, and quality-controlled condition.
