Our resilient perennials have been carefully chosen for greatest edibility and landscape beauty, as well as natural low-maintenance and ease of care. We are an Oregon mail-order nursery with additional services in edible home-landscape design and install. We are looking for an experienced Packer/Shipper to join our Summer 2026 Nursery team. You will be carefully picking & packing our native edible plants, so they arrive to our customers in a safe and timely manner. A successful Packing Specialist at Native Foods Nursery is consistent, focused, caring, and excels in communication with teammates. They must be comfortable working with their hands, learning to identify native plants, and navigating online shipping systems. The goal is to get more native edible plants into peoples' gardens across the country to increase food security, wildlife habitat, and combat climate change!
Responsibilities:
Selecting the healthiest, strongest plants from our field containers Accurately labeling and bundling complete orders for packing Pruning, weeding, re-potting, and efficiently wrapping orders. Padding, securing, stapling, and sealing plants in shipping boxes. Recording order statistics, processing and printing labels Shuttling packages to UPS pickup drivers Processing refunds for order substitutions/modifications Maintaining a clean and organized workspace Notifying management of any questions/inconsistencies in your order process
Requirements:
Proven experience as a packer/shipper (or in related work settings) Works well on a team, excels in communication Skilled working with hands Attention to quality control and detail Hard-working, focused, and consistent Timely and reliable
  • $16/hr. + potential bonus for speed.
  • 32-40 hrs/week
  • Sunday through Thursday, 8-4pm
  • Now through early July, then again in mid January through mid-June.
