Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for complying with all safety work rules at all times and reinforcing Safety as a Core Value. The role ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are consistently followed to reduce product and process variability. The primary purpose of the Loader is to supply production machines with flats of shell eggs, ensuring they never run out while keeping pace with production. Three loaders work together to supply the lines. Loaders must be able to safely lift and carry six flats of eggs at a time (approximately 20-30 lbs.) and maintain continuous supply to the lines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health into all tasks. Ensure regulatory compliance at all times. Continuously supply optiloader conveyors with flats of shell eggs by safely lifting six flats at a time from a nearby skid. Remove and stack dividers or skid sheets from between flats of eggs and place them in the designated area. Remove and stack empty skids in the designated area. Remove empty flats from the optiloader machine and stack them appropriately. Supply candlers with fill‑in flats of eggs as needed. Assist in monitoring the optiloader machine and help clear any jams. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality to support SQF Level certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, product quality, or personnel safety. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and interacting effectively with customers, clients, coworkers, and management. Support a safe and healthy workplace by consistently following all safety policies and procedures. Follow Quality work practices, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is upheld. Report any concerns that may affect food safety or quality. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
No prior experience or training required. Ability to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and number sequences. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and multiply and divide using 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using U.S. currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements. Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out oral instructions and handle problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations. Ability to lift and move empty skids weighing up to 50 lbs. safely. Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, turn, and carry approximately 20-30 lbs. (six flats of eggs). Ability to follow verbal instructions. Ability to work indoors in a wet, humid environment. Ability to travel stairs. Ability to work well with others and function effectively as a team member. Valid driver's license. Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations for the area. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including bump cap, earplugs, and steel‑toe boots. Ability to operate specific equipment or tools as required.
