Production Packer Job Description This role involves working as a production packer in a clean injection molding environment, inspecting and packaging plastic parts according to detailed job instructions. You will operate on a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts, supporting both daylight and night operations while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Responsibilities Inspect and package parts in accordance with job packet instructions, ensuring all specifications and quality standards are met. Visually inspect each part at the end of the production line and determine whether to place it in the appropriate bin for packaging, move it to another area, or place it into the scrap box when necessary. Stand for long periods of time while consistently grabbing parts from the end of the line and placing each item accurately in one of two designated areas. Work on multiple production lines as needed, adapting to both slower-paced lines and faster-paced lines that produce parts at a higher speed. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to identify defects, inconsistencies, or issues in parts during visual inspection. Follow all cleanroom and safety requirements, including the use of safety glasses, hair nets, and appropriate clothing. Support general production activities such as assembly, packaging, labeling, and visual inspection within the cleanroom and warehouse areas. Assist with basic troubleshooting of minor issues on the line and communicate problems to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Handle parts and equipment carefully to prevent damage and maintain product integrity. Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping and safety procedures. Essential Skills Preferably 1 year of production or manufacturing experience. Preferably 1 year of packaging and labeling experience. Preferably 1 year of experience inspecting parts or working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks. Strong attention to detail for visual inspection and accurate placement of parts. Capability to work on multiple production lines and adapt to varying line speeds. Comfort working in a cleanroom environment while following strict safety and cleanliness requirements. Basic mechanical aptitude to understand production line processes and equipment flow. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in assembly, general labor, cleanroom work, packaging, labeling, warehouse operations, or production is beneficial. Background in visual inspection of products is an advantage. Familiarity with troubleshooting and minor repair tasks in a production environment is helpful. Mechanically inclined candidates with exposure to maintenance repair or molding machines will find this experience useful. Willingness to work a 2-2-3 shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (daylight or night). Ability to successfully complete training on the daylight schedule during the first week (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). The role follows a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts: daylight hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and night hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Initial training occurs on the daylight shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work is primarily performed on production lines, where parts are inspected, assembled, packaged, and labeled in a fast-paced yet controlled environment. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and consistent procedures, with a mix of general production, warehouse, and cleanroom activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Latrobe, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $18.50/hr.
