Production Packer Job Description This role focuses on efficiently and safely packaging chocolate products in a modern manufacturing facility. You will prepare packaging materials, operate and monitor production lines, inspect finished products for quality, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Ensure the efficient and safe packaging of chocolate products according to established production and quality standards. Prepare, stage, and replenish packaging materials to support continuous production flow. Operate and monitor production and packaging lines, promptly addressing minor issues or escalating concerns when necessary. Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy of labels, and proper packaging, identifying and removing defective items. Perform packing and inspecting of products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company procedures. Follow all GMP and PPE guidelines to maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant manufacturing environment. Handle materials safely and efficiently, including moving, organizing, and storing packaging supplies and finished goods. Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area, including regular cleaning of equipment and work surfaces. Accurately follow work instructions, production schedules, and labeling requirements. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and support continuous improvement. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Hands-on experience with packing and inspecting products. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow PPE requirements. Capability to perform material handling tasks, including moving and organizing packaging materials and products. Strong attention to detail for labeling, packaging accuracy, and product inspection. Reliable work history demonstrating stable employment and consistent attendance. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with quality and safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in packaging, labeling, or production line work. Comfort working in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. Willingness to learn and follow detailed production and quality procedures. Strong teamwork and communication skills to support a collaborative production environment. Work Environment This position is based in a brand-new, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility with approximately 360 employees on site. The work environment follows strict GMP and PPE guidelines, emphasizing cleanliness, safety, and adherence to standardized procedures. You will work on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The setting includes production and packaging lines, material handling areas, and clearly defined workstations designed to support efficient and safe operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scranton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
