Job Title:
Packer Job Description The Packer is responsible for accurately packaging parts for shipment and transport while maintaining product integrity and meeting all packing specifications and documentation requirements. Responsibilities Measure, weigh, and count products and materials to ensure they meet specified packing requirements. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to verify that all packing specifications and quality standards are met. Ensure all required documentation stays with the materials throughout the packing process. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records with accuracy. Seal containers or materials using stretch wrap, tape, and other packaging materials to secure products for shipment. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools to protect products during transport. Clean containers, materials, supplies, and work areas using cleaning solutions and hand tools to maintain a safe and organized environment. Follow instructions from the supervisor regarding specific tasks, priorities, and packing requirements. Check the integrity of parts after processing to identify any damage, scratches, or defects before packing. Visually inspect parts to confirm the process has been completed correctly and that products meet quality expectations. Essential Skills Packing experience with strong manual dexterity. Ability to perform detailed visual inspection of parts and materials. High attention to detail to ensure accurate counts, measurements, and documentation. Basic inventory awareness related to packaging and materials. Ability to read work orders in English. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (not frequently). Some production or warehouse experience preferred. Demonstrated accuracy in completing tasks thoroughly and correctly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment is a plus. Comfort using hand tools for assembling and preparing cartons, crates, and containers. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors. Reliability and willingness to support overtime needs when required. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production or warehouse setting focused on packaging parts for shipment. Positions are available on second shift (approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) and third shift (approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.), with training on second shift for 3-4 weeks for third-shift roles. You must be able to work 1-2 hours of overtime per day as needed, and voluntary overtime is available on Saturdays. The work involves standing, handling materials, using hand tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, in an environment where cleanliness, organization, and safety are emphasized. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westminster, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
