Summary/Purpose Operates and maintains various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality, safety/environmental, productivity and housekeeping. Able to perform duties of other department personnel as needed in order to maintain the flow of materials to all areas of manufacturing. Determine the release of quantities of parts/packaging from the warehouse. Operate material handling equipment which includes forklifts, tuggers, one man lift, box truck and box washer. Assist with training on tugger routes and forklift.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Flexible to work in any area of the operation. Willing and able to work any shift. Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT team leader, supervisor and/or manager. Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element. Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation. Inspect all equipment prior to start-up. Observe machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction. Perform minor preventative machine maintenance and necessary cleaning on equipment and work area. Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct. Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision. May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to achieve forklift and tugger certification and drive proficiently, as determined is needed by our business demands. Ability to operate stretch wrap machine, dock locks, dock doors, box washer and possess a valid driver license in order to operate box truck. Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
