Job Description
Overview The Picker Packer plays an essential role in the success of Unis' logistics operations by ensuring accurate and efficient order fulfillment. This position directly impacts customer satisfaction and supply chain reliability by maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness. Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, the Picker Packer will engage in hands-on, detail-oriented tasks while collaborating with inventory control and outbound logistics teams. As part of Unis' commitment to operational excellence and unified supply chain networks, this role is pivotal in delivering superior value and maintaining the trust of our clients. Reporting to the Outbound Lead, the Picker Packer ensures seamless collaboration across the fulfillment process while adhering to safety and quality guidelines inherent to Unis' operational ethos. Responsibilities 1. Utilize order pick lists to locate and retrieve products from designated storage areas within the warehouse, ensuring precise selection based on product codes, descriptions, and quantities. 2. Prepare items for shipment by accurately packaging and labeling goods according to established guidelines. Ensure proper wrapping, cushioning, and sealing to protect items during transit. 3. Conduct quality checks before packing, inspecting products for defects, damage, or discrepancies, and reporting any quality issues to supervisors for immediate resolution. 4. Maintain accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels and assisting in cycle counts and periodic audits to reconcile discrepancies, in collaboration with inventory control teams. 5. Follow workplace safety guidelines diligently, including safe operation of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment, while maintaining a clean, organized work area to minimize risks. Minimum Requirements 1. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a warehouse, fulfillment center, or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. 2. Proven ability to follow detailed instructions and work with precision, ensuring high levels of accuracy in order picking, packing, and inventory management. 3. Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as well as handling items weighing up to 50 pounds. Preferred Requirements 1. Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or production environments, particularly in roles involving outbound operations or order fulfillment. 2. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld devices for order tracking and inventory management. 3. Strong understanding of quality control standards and experience addressing packaging and shipping requirements for various product types. Skills 1. Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure flawless order picking, packing, and labeling. 2. Time management and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet shipping deadlines. 3. Mechanical skills for safe operation of basic material handling equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks. 4. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, supervisors, and inventory staff regarding stock levels and quality issues. 5. Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace in compliance with workplace safety standards.
