POSITION SUMMARY

The individual in this role is responsible for efficiently packing or packaging a variety of products and materials by hand, ensuring quality control and adherence to shipping guidelines. The Packer ensures high-quality production standards are met, adheres to safety protocols, and contributes to safety protocols, and contributes to an efficient and collaborative manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging and 

Preparation:

Assemble and construct gaylord boxes bulk boxes for packing products. Follow all guidelines for proper product sequencing and scanning. Mark or label packaging or products as required. Prepare products and materials for shipment, ensuring secure and organized packaging.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor production for inconsistencies and promptly report concerns to the supervisor. Identify and resolve minor production issues, escalating significant problems as needed. Count and sequence finished screens accurately. Identify and remove defective products or materials, ensuring only quality items proceed.

Transportation and Equipment Use:

Transport prepared packages to the staging area for export. Operate hand tools and hand-operated pallet jacks as needed.

Maintenance:

Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in good working order.

Safety and Other Responsibilities:

Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development. Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious culture. This includes following all the location PPE guidelines. Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment. Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

(Education,, Experience, & Skills required): High School diploma or equivalent qualification; 2+ years of related experience or and equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing experience in the window Door manufacturing arena preferred. Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities. Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction. Detail-oriented and able to handle muti[;e tasks simultaneously. Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent time management skills and adaptivity. Customer oriented with a sense of urgency. Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possesses effective verbal communication skills. May be requested to travel and assist at other RiteScreen locations.

Work Environment:

This role involves working in a warehouse and manufacturing setting. In this setting, standard equipment such as machinery, computers, cameras, and material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, etc.) are used. Exposure to noise (level in the plant is moderate to loud). Location specific PPE required.

Seeing Frequently reads various operational and safety documents. Must have ability to differentiate colors and ability to adjust visual focus. Talking and Hearing Frequently communicates with colleagues, co-workers, and customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Manual Dexterity Frequently uses dexterity to assemble product and/or operate machinery as required. Requires excellent hand-eye coordination
