The organization delivers low- to high-volA leading Southern California Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company with over 46 years of experience is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. We specialize in PCB assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, and systems integration, serving the industrial, medical, aerospace, and automotive markets. The Purchasing Manager will lead the Purchasing Department and be responsible for material procurement, supplier management, cost control, and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all Purchasing Department activities.
  • Lead and support the purchasing team to meet company and production objectives.
  • Manage the procurement of electronic components, materials, and supplies.
  • Work closely with Program Management, Production, Engineering, and Quality to ensure material availability.
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor pricing, lead times, delivery, quality, and overall performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Monitor purchase orders from placement through material receipt and proactively address shortages or delivery issues.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop solutions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control, Receiving, and other departments to ensure the efficient flow of materials.
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory or management experience required.
  • Experience purchasing electronic components in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Epicor experience is a plus.
