This role is critical to helping the business quote customers accurately by applying strong market knowledge, commercial judgment, strategic sourcing insight, and a clear understanding of SSD, memory, storage, semiconductor, and adjacent electronics market dynamics. The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially confident, and comfortable defending higher pricing when supported by market conditions and data. This person will work closely with Sales, Procurement, Product Management, and Executive Leadership and, after an initial training period, will have authority to make pricing decisions within the business. Strategic sourcing is an important part of the role, and customer-facing experience is also valuable, as this person will support and lead pricing discussions with customers when needed. We are looking for someone who brings confidence and sound commercial judgment to pricing decisions, understands market dynamics, can quickly grasp market changes, and is comfortable recommending and defending firm quote positions when supported by market intelligence to retain customers while protecting the company. This position reports to the COO and is a full-time onsite role, Monday through Friday, based in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Travel may be required based on business needs (estimated once per quarter). Relocation package is not available at this time. Role Responsibilities Develop customer quotations and pricing strategies for DRAM, NAND, SSD, memory module, and related product lines. Set pricing positions based on market conditions, supply-demand trends, customer value, competitive intelligence, and procurement economics. Analyze deal profitability and make pricing decisions that balance customer retention with company margin protection, ensuring quotes are positioned appropriately as market conditions change. Defend disciplined pricing and challenge unnecessary concessions when market information supports a stronger quote position. Support and lead pricing discussions with customers and internal stakeholders, with customer-facing activity serving as an important but secondary aspect of the role. Maintain disciplined pricing governance, approval processes, and quote documentation. Develop a strong understanding of customer purchasing behavior, buying cycles, inventory positions, and sourcing strategies. Monitor market changes closely and translate supply-demand movement, competitor activity, and cost changes into actionable pricing recommendations. Track industry conditions including wafer availability, memory pricing trends, component cost movement, logistics costs, and supply chain risk. Build and maintain market intelligence that helps the company make informed buying and pricing decisions while protecting profitability. Provide regular pricing outlooks, market updates, and commercial recommendations to management. Partner closely with Procurement and strategic sourcing teams to stay current on supplier cost positions, availability, and market movement, with strategic sourcing serving as an important part of the role. Understand the cost drivers that affect product profitability, including memory IC pricing, SSD controller pricing, logistics, and supply risk. Translate procurement and sourcing insight into commercial pricing decisions and customer quote strategy. Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Executive Leadership to support winning strategies for both revenue growth and margin protection. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring a combination of industry knowledge, pricing discipline, strategic sourcing insight, commercial judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving market. Customer-facing experience is also valuable for supporting pricing discussions and customer quote strategy. 5+ years of experience in pricing, procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, product management, sales, or other commercial roles. Strong understanding of semiconductor, memory, storage, electronics, or adjacent technology markets. Experience developing quotes, pricing recommendations, sourcing strategies, or other commercial decisions in fast-changing markets. Strong analytical, financial modeling, and decision-making skills. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with market data, pricing analysis, and business intelligence tools. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to recommend and defend pricing decisions using data, market insight, and sound commercial judgment. Ability to operate with urgency, make commercial decisions under uncertainty, and remain disciplined under customer pressure. Role Scope This role has meaningful impact on company margin, quote competitiveness, and customer retention. After an initial training period, this person will have authority to make pricing decisions and will serve as a key partner to Sales, Procurement, Product Management, and Executive Leadership. The top two KPIs for this role are company margin and quote win rate. Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates may have experience in memory, SSD, semiconductor, electronics, or adjacent technology markets, along with backgrounds in pricing, strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or commercial operations.
