Job Description

Responsible for timely and effective management of outside services, supplies, and consumables to enable production and all other site functions to maintain ongoing continuity of their respective operations. Must manage a budget that aligns with corporate objectives. Position holder is expected to bring integrity and uniformity to purchasing activities and reflect best purchasing and supply chain management practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes procurement processes that align with corporate objectives, bring uniformity to purchasing activities, reflect best purchasing practices, ensure for continuity of supply, and produce positive profit contribution to the site Oversees all aspects of supplier relations to include identification, source selection and ongoing maintenance of supplier agreements. Responsible for making appropriate purchasing decisions that ensure uninterrupted supply for continuity of operations while minimizing inventory carrying costs. Establishes and negotiates payment terms that meet the company's objectives. Completes make vs buy analyses across internal and external suppliers and service providers to improve critical site KPIs, including quality, delivery, and profitability Participates in quoting process to ensure that any OSS required is competitive in the market and profitable for the business Develops and implements KPIs or scorecards to evaluate both supplier and department performance. Takes a leadership role in cross functional projects to improve site capabilities and performance on critical KPI's Regularly evaluate suppliers to ensure that inventories are maintained and that deliveries are timely. Locate vendors of material, services or supplies to establish a timely and cost-effective supply chain. Stewardship & ownership of Supplier Corrective Actions. Initiating and reporting interdepartmental follow through as needed pursuant to completion. Followed by verification of effectiveness Coordinating supplier qualification process. Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or materials. Serves as the primary liaison between internal cross-functional teams and vendors ensuring timely responses, support and issue resolution.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong Planning and Negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships Strong supply chain management and improvement knowledge Ability to plan, and effectively manage to a budget Exemplify a sense of ownership, initiative, urgency, tenacity and effective follow through. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. At minimum Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft office applications Able to collaborate and work effectively with various departments (Operations/ Engineering/ Supply Chain/ Maintenance/ Quality/ Warehouse / Admin) Functions as needed. Must be able to anticipate and act on needs (not just respond to requests) and deal with ambiguity. Must have excellent people skills and the ability to multi-task
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field. Extensive experience with ERP systems Minimum of five (5) years combined experience in an industrial environment in a similar role, or at least as a key contributor & process owner in a manufacturing or supply chain capacity Desired Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) qualification
