Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a talented Purchasing Manager to join our team. Our business specializes in providing reliable commercial, industrial, and residential electrical solutions. We are looking for a leader who can suggest and implement improvements, work well with a variety of internal and external customers, and handle the fast-paced and detail-oriented procurement process. Responsibilities Oversee supplier quotes, material purchasing, and equipment rentals Oversee Assistant Purchasing Agent Manage supplier relationships to maintain quality of goods, favorable pricing and terms, and timely delivery Maintain inventory levels at warehouse and on company vehicles Implement and oversee tool purchasing and maintenance program Implement best practices in procurement, reporting, and inventory management Develop, implement, and continuously improve purchasing processes, workflows, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings Ensure cost efficiency Communicate material status to key stakeholders Receive material and verify merchandise received against packing slips and invoices Handle order discrepancies and any obvious damages with suppliers Process and perform data entry of return of materials and follow up on credit Coordinate deliveries to job sites as required Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and yard Coordinate sorting and storage for material needed on large projects Manage inventory procedures Oversee fleet management Must be able to work overtime when necessary and participate in physical inventory Provide high-quality internal and external customer service Comply with all company policies and procedures Any other duties as assigned Requirements Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint Strong organizational skills: Must be detail oriented Strong interpersonal skills: Must be a team player and demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills. High initiative and independence Five years or more related experience and/or training preferred Clean driving record Ability to distinguish colors Reliable, dependable, and hard working Ability to lift and carry construction materials High School Diploma or GED Ability to speak, read, write and understand English Working knowledge of all electrical related tools and meters is a plus Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical activity requiring reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, pulling, carrying, balancing, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Associate is required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile). Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise. Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pickers, etc.
