Position Summary/General Description:
Directs and oversees the national purchasing team for all purchasing activities across the organization to ensure most cost effect use of procurement dollars. Establish vendor relationships which provide service, quality, depth and value. Provides purchasing coverage on daily basis for various company segments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Develop, integrate and monitor companywide purchasing procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance Provide guidance and direction to nationwide purchasing team and collaborate with production and operations regarding materials, vendors, agreements, costs and overall procurement Research resources for products/services/materials as requested and anticipated Negotiate vendor agreements with competitive pricing and rebates for key products/services/materials leveraging companywide purchasing power to develop an overall sourcing strategy Ensure vendor compliance and purchase orders are issued in accordance with defined procedures and standards. Responsible for procurement and delivery of products/services/materials meeting the necessary timeframes required. Manage vendor/supplier relationships, negotiate, administer and maintain agreements ensuring quality customer service and product standards Establish cost effective sourcing strategies and vendor relationships, utilizing preferred vendors Oversee the issuing of stock material part numbers and maintain a current part numbers spreadsheet Vendor compliance, vetting, class ID, terms ID and system setup Credit card reconciliation and submittal using established procedures and program Provide tax exempt documents to vendors Invoice submittal using established procedures & meeting company requirements Oversee the submittal of special payment requests to accounts payable and the maintenance of the special payment spreadsheet Responsible for partnering with finance to provide the required purchasing information for routine audits.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Minimum of 10+ years of experience in purchasing in a production and/or manufacturing environment, 5 of which in a senior management role Working knowledge of exhibit industry Knowledge of production resources, materials and tooling/equipment Ability to manage and oversee multiple assignments in a dynamic, fast paced environment Strong organizational, time management and negotiation/communication skills PC skills, Microsoft Office Suite & experience with ERP/procurement software and systems
