Job Description

Procurement & Purchasing Manager Driving Operational Excellence to Support Exceptional Care The Procurement & Purchasing Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality care and services for our residents by taking ownership of the organization's procurement and supply chain operations. This is an on-site position, working closely with internal teams across the organization. This role provides strategic leadership and supervises the procurement team, overseeing vendor partnerships, purchasing processes, and inventory management to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Working closely with clinical, dining, facilities, and administrative teams, the Manager ensures staff have the resources they need to deliver exceptional resident experiences. This position combines operational leadership, team management, and a mission-driven commitment to service, accountability, and excellence.
What You Will Do:
Take full ownership of vendor relationships by identifying, evaluating, and selecting partners who align with our mission, negotiating pricing and contracts, and proactively resolving any service or quality issues. Lead the development and execution of purchasing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines while anticipating market trends and supply chain risks. Partner with organizational leaders to make strategic purchasing decisions that advance operational and financial objectives. Lead, develop, and inspire the procurement team, fostering accountability, performance excellence, and professional growth. Own the end-to-end purchase order process, including requisitions, approvals, and monitoring orders to ensure resources are available when and where they are needed. Drive inventory management by collaborating with operational teams to forecast demand, maintain optimal stock levels, and prevent shortages or waste. Set and enforce quality standards for all procured goods and services, ensuring compliance through oversight and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment, and take proactive steps to prevent discrepancies. Take accountability for financial reporting, generating actionable insights from purchasing and contract data to inform leadership decisions. Ensure compliance with all internal policies, financial controls, and risk management standards, continuously identifying opportunities to strengthen governance.
What Is Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (healthcare or senior living experience preferred). Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships effectively. Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, and cost management. Experience working with ERP systems and financial software. Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teams. Commitment to professionalism, compliance, and supporting a mission-driven organization.
