Job Description

The Sales and Product Planning Director will manage the day-to-day purchasing process to ensure that all product purchases are completed in a manner that is consistent with the current and the long-range needs. Strong interaction with internal departments that require service and direction from purchasing to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in
Business Management Experience:
5 years purchasing management experience
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Purchase and maintain inventory across multiple warehouses to ensure on-time shipment to customers, staying within budgetary constraints, while supporting promotional activities.
  • Communicate to corporate offices regarding global purchases, inventory levels, product placement and Point of Sale data for key trends and brands.
  • Work very closely with offshore teams on production from multiple countries, establish manufacturing priorities and assist in meeting shipping deadlines.
  • Leadership of the purchasing and sales analyst team for forecast accuracy for inventory purchasing and reporting financial budget data.
  • Manage raw material inventory to ensure smooth operations and production schedules.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to identify excess inventory, monitor product lifecycles, tooling movement, and record financial reserves.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting to resolve invoicing problems and the streamlining of the procurement process. Act as a liaison between external suppliers and internal departments
  • Document, communicate and maintain purchasing systems to ensure compliance, and that business transactions are conducted in a manner that ensures the best overall price and quality are obtained to meet company needs.
  • Maintain supplier partnerships to ensure the best value for goods and services.
  • Maintain an interest and an association with employees and suppliers that serves the overall best interest of the company through professional conduct.
Skills Required:
  • Experience working with contractual agreements, including an understanding of legal terms/conditions, financial evaluations, and effective negotiating techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills including effective time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Conflict resolution and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
