Job Description
Overview Fabcoat, LLC is hiring an experienced Production and Purchasing Manager to source, negotiate, and procure the raw materials, metals, and coatings used in our fabrication and coating operations. If you have a strong track record in supplier negotiation, cost management, and inventory planning, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Source and purchase raw materials, sheet metal, coils, bar stock, coatings, and related fabrication supplies to support production schedules. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to secure favorable cost, quality, and delivery. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, and identify/qualify new vendors as needed. Monitor inventory levels and lead times alongside production planning to prevent shortages or excess stock. Track commodity markets (steel, aluminum, coatings/chemicals) to anticipate cost swings. Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and invoicing issues with QA and Accounts Payable. Maintain purchase orders and procurement records, and lead cost-reduction initiatives. Schedule the daily and weekly production of the plant and machine centers. Hold joint responsibility for determining what orders are scheduled for production and overall management of the backlog to ensure minimal lead times for customers. Experience 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing or fabrication. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Excel. Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Ability to work on-site with regular time on the production floor. Preferred Experience Experience purchasing raw materials/metals/coatings, knowledge of manufacturing processes, commodity market tracking experience, and
CPSM/CPM
