Position Title:
Construction Purchasing Coordinator Company Overview At Lotz Custom Carpentry Inc, we believe in creating a better home by doing better work. We provide full-service production on every project, from initial meetings to inspections and design, through the build, and even deep cleaning when we walk out the door. Our experienced crews will handle everything, demolition, framing, insulation, drywall, painting, tile and stonework, flooring, finished carpentry and much more. We only use licensed and insured subcontractors when needed for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and roofing. We truly cater to the homeowner during the entire construction process. Job Overview This position, we are looking for a skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure timely project execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing within the construction industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a strong ability to maintain vendor relationships. Responsibilities and Duties Source, order, and track materials, fixtures, and supplies needed for residential remodeling projects. Create and maintain strong subcontractor relationships with trade partners. Preform takeoffs for various material quantities from construction plans. Submit plans and specifications to subcontractors for bid, review bids for accuracy, and issue purchase orders to secure subcontractors for upcoming projects. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory levels. Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings. Coordinate deliveries to job sites and ensure timely arrival of materials. Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure procurement aligns with project schedules. Evaluate supplier performance and recommend changes when necessary. Assist in budget tracking and cost control for materials procurement. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to purchasing. Resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or product quality. Continuously research and identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-effective purchasing opportunities Permit documentation procurement and permit submittals. Warehouse inventory and management Delivery scheduling and management Qualifications 3-7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within the construction or remodeling industry. Knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and procurement processes. Ability to read blueprints and construction plans. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing/inventory management software. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with cost estimation and budget management is a plus.
