Clay Center, KS About AGI AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. The Opportunity Plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of purchasing department and related workers involved in purchasing materials, products and services. Manage receipt of materials and relieve material from inventory. Ensure contracts with suppliers and vendors are consistent while securing competitive prices.
Responsibilities:
Locate vendors of materials, equipment of supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Control purchasing department budgets. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Interview, hire staff, and oversee staff training in purchasing department while coordinating with HR. As well as overseeing personnel issues with your staff and annual reviews. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids. Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials. Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise cost. Administer online purchasing systems. Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)
Experience:
Four to ten years related experience
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office;
Word, Excel, Outlook Other Requirements:
Experience in steel manufacturing setting required. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and KanBan philosophies. Why AGI?
