Job Description

PROCUREMENT SUPERVISOR
OFFICE
OF PROCUREMENT
NON-STATE SERVICE
Salary Range:
$61,416.94 - $92,217.55 Salary will be negotiable and commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This is the senior-level supervisory/managerial procurement position. The incumbent must be a Certified MS Purchasing Agent and is accountable for overseeing the procurement function for an agency. Employees are responsible for establishing statewide or agency procurement programs compatible with agency objectives and strategies. Employees at this level are responsible for setting a budget and ensuring the department operates within that budget. Incumbents are responsible for coordinating multiple resources, scheduling and prioritizing work, and supervising employees. Incumbents conduct investigations of flagrant or intentional violations of contracts and policies and have the authority to reject substandard shipments. It involves professional analysis work of complex purchasing awards. Incumbents possess knowledge of professional procurement principles and techniques, state and federal laws, and rules and regulations.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning, and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Employees have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
