Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Parts Department Manager to lead our parts operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee the entire parts department, ensuring seamless inventory management, efficient procurement, and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will drive the department's success by optimizing supply chain processes, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate inventory levels. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the parts department team to deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence. Manage inventory control, including stock levels, order management, and warehousing to ensure availability of parts while minimizing excess stock. Oversee procurement activities, including sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, negotiating pricing, and maintaining supplier relationships to secure quality supplies at competitive rates. Implement demand planning strategies based on sales data, seasonal trends, and manufacturing needs to optimize inventory turnover. Maintain compliance with safety standards related to warehouse operations, including forklift operation and equipment repair. Use data entry skills to update CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), AS400 systems, and other databases for accurate record keeping. Support automotive diagnostics and automotive service teams by providing mechanical knowledge and sourcing specialized parts as needed. Foster strong relationships with suppliers through negotiation and supplier management practices to enhance procurement efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse management, or inventory control within automotive, manufacturing, or dealership environments. Strong knowledge of procurement management, sourcing strategies, and negotiation techniques. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or similar order management platforms. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, HVAC systems, and equipment repair is highly desirable. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, logistics coordination, and warehouse safety protocols. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and inventory accuracy. Customer service orientation with strong communication skills for team leadership and supplier interactions.
