Purchasing Manager

Position Summary We are seeking a Purchasing professional to take ownership of our purchasing function. This individual will be responsible for supplier relationships, cost control, material availability, and long-term sourcing strategy to support manufacturing operations. Depending on experience, this position may be filled at the Specialist or Manager level. Our goal is to hire someone capable of growing into — or immediately operating as — the leader of the Purchasing function as the company scales. This role is hands-on today and strategic long-term. Pay is determined by experience. Core Responsibilities Supplier Ownership & Strategy Develop and manage supplier relationships Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times Identify alternate suppliers and risk mitigation strategies Establish long-term value-added supplier partnerships aligned with company growth Purchasing Execution Issue and manage purchase orders in MISys Monitor open POs and delivery schedules Coordinate shortages and expediting with Operations Ensure accurate fulfillment (quantity, quality, and cost) of forecast and order backlog Cost & Performance Management Monitor material cost trends and identify savings opportunities Manage supplier performance (cost, delivery, quality) Support inventory discipline and working capital control Cross-Functional Coordination Align purchasing activity with production schedules Communicate supply risks proactively Support engineering changes and new product launches Function Development (Manager Track) Build and document purchasing processes Establish KPIs for supplier performance and purchasing efficiency Hire and develop future purchasing team members as volume grows Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who: Has strong supplier negotiation experience Can operate independently and take ownership Is comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced manufacturing environment Understands cost control and working capital discipline Is both hands-on and strategic Experience Requirements Manager Level 8+ years purchasing or supply chain experience Demonstrated supplier negotiation and cost control results Strong ERP/MRP system experience Experience building or improving purchasing processes Ability to operate as functional leader Proven supplier communication and PO management

From $75,000.00 per year
