Job Description
Job Summary Gras Lawn is seeking a Landscape Construction Purchaser to acquire materials and services for landscape construction projects. The purchaser sources suppliers, negotiates contracts, and manages the procurement process to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. The purchaser works closely with project managers, designers, and estimators to understand project needs and ensure materials are procured efficiently. The Purcher is responsible for obtaining requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifying receipt of items when necessary; and establishing and maintaining positive business relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying and establishing relationships with vendors for materials like plants, irrigation systems, raw materials, and equipment. Securing favorable prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Placing orders, tracking deliveries, and coordinating with project teams. Participating in the development of project budgets and cost analysis. Monitoring inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed. Evaluating supplier performance and identifying areas for improvement. Working with project managers, designers, and estimators to ensure smooth project execution. Enter Purchasing information into accounting system; track costs and quantities purchased to assure accuracy and coming in below budget Responsible for accounting for the material used on the job sites. Responsible for monitoring and tracking equipment. Research and resolve Invoice/PO discrepancies/coordinate returns/credit memos and assist with processing vendor returns by adjusting PO as required. Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, and obtaining approval from the appropriate manager as needed.Experience:
Several years of experience in landscape construction or a related field is preferred.Knowledge:
Familiarity with landscape and construction materials, processes, and industry standards.Skills:
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent computer proficiency.Job Type:
