Job Description

A growing manufacturing company in Morristown, NJ is seeking a talented and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement function. This is a high-impact role for a polished, hands-on professional who can bring strong supplier management, sound commercial judgment, and disciplined execution to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. •
ONSITE ROLE
•The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing materials and components, negotiating supplier agreements, managing freight and logistics costs, and improving purchasing processes and performance through strong systems, follow-through, and cross-functional collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in supporting operational success while helping strengthen a critical function within the business. Key Responsibilities Lead purchasing activities for materials, components, and outside services in support of manufacturing operations Source, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships that support cost, quality, and delivery objectives Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to achieve strong commercial outcomes Build and maintain productive vendor partnerships while holding suppliers accountable for performance Monitor freight, shipping, and logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expense Utilize ERP systems to manage purchase orders, supplier data, reporting, and purchasing workflows Analyze pricing trends, market conditions, tariffs, and supply chain risks to support effective decision-making Partner closely with production, engineering, and finance to align purchasing priorities with operational and financial goals Strengthen purchasing processes, controls, and overall execution Track supplier performance and address issues with urgency and professionalism Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment Proven success negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships Strong ERP experience and comfort working with purchasing data, reporting, and systems Experience managing freight, shipping, or logistics-related costs Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and strong business judgment Professional presence with a practical, collaborative, and results-oriented approach Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role within a growing manufacturing business where purchasing plays an important part in operational performance. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
