Job Description
Procurement & Operations Manager Frankfort, NY | Full-Time Build a career where safety, sustainability, and people come together. At Zing Green Safety Products, we help businesses protect their people and keep their operations moving through safety products, facility solutions, custom capabilities, and hands-on support. We're growing—and we're looking for a Procurement & Operations Manager who wants to grow with us! If you're analytical, organized, comfortable working with data, and energized by solving operational challenges, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of a critical part of our business. Make an Impact This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain existing processes. You'll have the opportunity to improve them. As our Procurement & Operations Manager, you'll work across purchasing, suppliers, inventory, logistics, production planning, and forecasting to help ensure we have the right products and materials, at the right time, at the right cost. You'll dig into the numbers, identify opportunities, solve problems before they become bigger problems, and help our team make smarter operational and financial decisions. You'll also lead and develop members of our operations team, helping establish priorities, improve accountability, and build the capabilities we'll need as Zing continues to expand. What You'll Own Procurement & Supplier Management
- Manage day-to-day purchasing and procurement. Build strong supplier relationships and monitor pricing, lead times, service, quality, and performance.
- Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms when appropriate. Develop purchasing strategies based on demand, inventory, lead times, and business needs.
- Identify supply risks early and take action before they disrupt operations. Inventory & Supply Chain
- Own inventory planning and replenishment. Establish appropriate inventory levels based on demand and lead times.
- Analyze inventory turns, shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving products. Improve inventory accuracy and product availability while reducing unnecessary inventory investment.
- Oversee inbound logistics and shipment coordination. Identify opportunities to improve delivery performance and reduce freight costs. Production Planning & Forecasting
- Own production planning and forecasting processes. Use sales history, current demand, inventory, open orders, and production capacity to develop forecasts.
- Coordinate production requirements with purchasing and inventory availability. Identify potential material shortages and capacity constraints before they impact the business. Continuously improve forecasting accuracy and planning processes. Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Develop meaningful production and operational KPIs. Analyze production performance across lines, shifts, products, and time periods.
- Find the " why" behind the numbers—identifying bottlenecks, trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities. Turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Analyze purchasing, freight, inventory, and production costs to identify savings opportunities. Take ownership of operational problems from identification through resolution. Team Leadership
- Lead, support, and develop members of the procurement and operations team. Establish priorities and provide clear direction.
- Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability. Coach and mentor team members as they develop their skills and responsibilities.
- Build a collaborative environment focused on communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Partner across departments to keep priorities aligned with the needs of the business. Who We're Looking For You don't need to have done everything on this list—but you should be ready to take ownership, learn quickly, and make things better. We're looking for someone with:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, operations, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with purchasing, inventory, forecasting, production, or operational data.
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and confidence working with large datasets. The ability to turn data into practical business recommendations.
- Supplier management and negotiation skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. The ability to independently manage priorities and follow problems through to resolution.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams. Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory management, or manufacturing systems. What Success Looks Like You'll know you're making an impact when we have:
- Better inventory accuracy and product availability. Smarter purchasing decisions and stronger supplier performance.
- Fewer supply chain delays and improved lead times. More accurate production forecasts and plans.
- Greater visibility into production performance. New cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
- More data-driven decisions across procurement and operations.
