Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Parts Department Manager to lead our parts operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire parts department, ensuring seamless inventory control, supplier relationships, and customer service excellence. Your leadership will drive efficiency in procurement, warehousing, and order management while fostering a positive environment that motivates your team to deliver outstanding results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic department within a fast-paced automotive or manufacturing setting, emphasizing continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the parts department, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping & receiving activities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners to ensure timely procurement and sourcing of quality parts. Oversee warehouse management activities, including inventory control, demand planning, and equipment repair to optimize storage space and reduce waste. Utilize ERP systems, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and order management systems to track inventory levels, process orders, and analyze supply chain data for continuous improvement. Lead procurement management efforts by negotiating pricing, managing sourcing strategies, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Supervise staff responsible for data entry, inventory control, shipping & receiving, and customer service to foster a collaborative team environment. Ensure adherence to safety standards related to warehouse experience, forklift operation, HVAC systems (if applicable), and automotive diagnostics. Monitor supply chain performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements. Coordinate with automotive service teams or dealership personnel to support automotive repair needs with accurate parts availability. Skills Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles within automotive or manufacturing environments. Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation, and procurement processes. Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, equipment repair, HVAC systems or similar technical fields. Proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent order management software; familiarity with CMMS is a plus. Expertise in warehouse management including inventory management, demand planning, shipping & receiving procedures, and logistics coordination. Ability to utilize sourcing strategies effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Skilled in data entry accuracy combined with analytical capabilities for inventory control and pricing analysis. Valid forklift certification; experience operating warehouse equipment safely is essential. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in purchasing, demand forecasting, and inventory tracking.
