Job Description
The County of Washington is seeking applicants for the position of full-time Director of Purchasing to obtain goods and services for all County departments in accordance with the laws and procedures intended to provide for the economical expenditure of public funds; to oversee the maintenance, distribution and tracking of the goods and services acquired. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college in business administration or related field. Requires two (2) years in purchasing, utilizing knowledge and the ability to enforce laws governing public purchasing. CPPO or CPPM or two (2) or more years of public purchasing, inventory, management, negotiation, developing bid specifications, and excellent communication skills are necessary along with computer, writing, and customer service skills.
