About This Role The Procurement Category Manager owns and is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the strategy and ensuring execution of a variety of high dollar, high complexity systems, materials and services in support of assigned product lines. This role will be responsible for supplier selection, negotiation and creation of long-term agreements and management of large and complex supplier programs. Responsibilities- Lead several supply chain sourcing projects concurrently across assigned product categories.
- Evaluate, analyze and assess trends and advancements in materials, technologies, sources of supply and the market to establish supply solutions.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting potential suppliers/partners for systems, materials and services.
- Ensure proper assessments and audits in conjunction with Supplier Quality are accomplished to confirm qualifications and capabilities of potential subcontractors.
- Prepares requests for proposals, obtains proposals, supports cost proposals, prepares cost or price analysis and establishes negotiation strategy.
- Negotiates all aspects of high-value, major subcontracts, or long-term agreement in collaboration with programs, Engineering and Supplier Quality including scope of work, pricing and payments, and all contract terms and conditions.
- Prepares procurement documents in accordance with appropriate company and customer requirements, including contract, statements of work, technical specifications, data requirements and special provisions as required.
- Take appropriate actions to ensure contract compliance and performance, including coordination with other departments as well as effective communications with suppliers to assure their understanding of key issues, risks, objectives, and milestones of the program.
- Manage multiple supplier contracts to ensure performance and execution to contract requirements, including regular reviews.
- Collaborate with tactical procurement, planning, scheduling, engineering, supplier quality and operations to meet the needs of the business in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- May occasionally need to accommodate support in different time zones. Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or another related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field such as supply chain, procurement, contracts or program management.
- High integrity, credibility, and character.
- Experience and success working collaboratively across functions
- Knowledge of current industry practices, techniques and standards within Supply Chain.
- Ability to apply concepts and principles of Supply Chain and Supplier Management
- Ability to develop solutions in a cross functional setting to problems of moderate scope and complexity by referring to policies and practices for guidance.
- Demonstrated success conducting analysis, establishing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts and managing complex projects.
- Works under only general supervision
- Ability to propose solutions, make decisions, and execute moderately complex issues.
- Familiarity with manufacturing a plus.
- Knowledgeable about AS9100 and ISO standard.
- Experienced in Project management and contract negotiations and ability to conduct spend analysis and market assessments.
- Demonstrated experience in managing global suppliers.
- Excellent Microsoft Windows Office Suite skills (to include Project management, Excel, PowerPoint) and MRP skills.
- Must possess excellent communication skills to include written, presentation, telecommunication, and verbal.
- Ability to obtain valid international travel documents.
