Job Title:
Category Manager Job Description The Category Manager will manage a portfolio of assigned categories through strategic sourcing and supplier management within a fleet management and mobility solutions environment. This role focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost savings while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and leveraging market research and data analysis. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of assigned categories using strategic sourcing and supplier management best practices. Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives and drive cost savings across assigned categories. Conduct strategic sourcing and category planning activities to ensure continuity of supply and optimized total cost of ownership. Source specific categories and lead negotiations with suppliers beyond initial service level agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions. Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends to inform sourcing decisions and identify opportunities for improvement. Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company standards and risk management requirements. Manage supplier relationships to ensure high performance, value delivery, and adherence to agreed service level agreements. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established metrics and take corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions to understand business needs, gather requirements, and align sourcing strategies. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, emerging trends, and innovative solutions within assigned categories. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, procurement policies, and service level agreements throughout the supplier lifecycle. Use data analysis tools and reports to track category performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making. Essential Skills 2-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. Proven experience in category management, vendor management, and procurement activities. Experience with indirect and direct sourcing in a supply chain or purchasing environment. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate with suppliers beyond initial service level agreements. Experience analyzing spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to support sourcing decisions. Proficiency in contract negotiation and contract management. Ability to work with data analysis tools and functions such as VLOOKUP. Proficiency with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Oracle. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools. Bachelor's degree (BS) in any field, preferably in accounting, finance, or business. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Strong written and verbal communication skills to support negotiations and stakeholder engagement. Work Environment The Category Manager will work in a professional office-based environment within a fleet management and mobility solutions context. The role involves regular use of procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Oracle, as well as daily use of the Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis or visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau. Work is primarily computer-based, focused on data analysis, contract review, and virtual or in-person collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers during standard business hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alpharetta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
