POSITION OVERVIEW

The Category Manager will drive strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and cost optimization for medical and non-medical supplies and services. This role ensures vendor compliance, enhances total cost of ownership, and supports supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate will partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to implement category strategies and process improvements that deliver measurable results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute end-to-end category strategies, including sourcing events, adoption, performance measurement, and continuous improvement. Design and enhance buying programs and supplier frameworks to standardize materials, improve service, and strengthen accountability. Serve as primary point of contact for assigned categories, managing expectations and fostering performance-driven supplier relationships. Negotiate and review contracts, NDAs, and agreements with key suppliers. Analyze spending and supply chain data to identify savings opportunities and improve total cost of ownership. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support promotions, campaigns, and business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management. Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills. Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience leading process improvement and standardization initiatives.
